About the Institution

AVS High School was established in the year 1910 by the visionary educationist Thiru A.V. Stephen Vedhamuthu as a humble ThinnaiPalli with just a few students. Recognized as a primary school (Standards I to V) in 1919, the institution steadily grew in stature and service to society. In 1965, the school was upgraded to a middle school (Standards VI to VIII) under the leadership and encouragement of the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru K. Kamaraj. Later, in 1991, it was elevated to a high school (Standards VI to X). Since then, AVS High School has consistently maintained a strong academic record and continues to serve as a beacon of education in the region.

The founder envisioned an institution where education transcends social barriers such as caste, creed, religion, and economic status. His vision was to empower children through education, instilling knowledge, confidence, discipline, and ethical values. AVS High School was founded with the belief that education is the strongest tool for social transformation, and this guiding principle continues to shape the institution even today.
